Goshawk said it expects net loss attributable to Hurricane Katrina to be in the range of $25-30m.
Goshawk added that the impact of Hurricane Katrina is therefore not expected to reduce its year-end capital.
Given the severe and wide ranging impact that Hurricane Katrina will have on the reinsurance and retrocession markets, Goshawk also said it expects to benefit from substantially improved rates, terms and conditions next year.
