Halifax General Insurance (HGI) is to pilot a new service, which will provide at-home loss adjusting, from 31st March.
The service will see Halifax-employed loss adjusters visiting the homes of claimants to talk through claims procedures face-to-face.
HGI will initially pilot a scheme handling general insurance claims in the East Midlands region and subsidence claims nationwide.
Jim Pittman, head of Halifax Claims at Home said: "This service will be of great benefit to our customers. Insurance claims sometimes can be, by their very nature, unpleasant experiences, so we are trying to make the process quicker, simpler, less traumatic and more sympathetic for our customers."
