Halliwell Landau has been appointed to place TPG and its subsidiary, Hamilton Barr Insurance Brokers (HB), into administration.

Yesterday the High Court appointed Stephen Swaden and Neil Bennett of Leonard Curtis as joint administrators.

Halliwell Landau and Leonard Curtis have negotiated the sale of the companies' assets and have exchanged contracts for the sale of TPG's business to Travel & General Group.

GISC told FT.com that it had been told by TPG's administrators that the insurers who used the group would honour any policies sold.
