Hardy Underwriting has said that its interim results, which will be announced on 22 September, will be "materially ahead" of market expectations.
Hardy estimated the net cost of Hurricane Katrina to be £5m and said that after taking account of existing provisions for such an event, the net impact on the group's profit before tax for the 2005 year end is estimated at £2.5m.
