Motor insurer Highway has acquired the personal lines book of broker LRG Insurance Services.
The addition of 5,000 policies from LRG brings the total number of policies handled by Highway Retail to just under 100,000, the company said.
Highway Retail's managing director Paul Cosh said: “The purchase of LRG's book of personal lines business marks another milestone for Highway Retail. To date we have concentrated on acquiring brokers in order to build our infrastructure. Having built our base we now have the freedom to buy either other brokers or just individual books. We have great plans and anticipate buying additional significant trading sites.”
LRG's policies will be transferred to Highway Retail's call centre in Aylesbury.
