The new role has been created to respond to changing nature of cyber risk
Hiscox has appointed Matt Webb as group head of cyber, a new role to oversee the group’s cyber strategy and manage cyber risk exposure.
Webb first joined the business over ten years ago as a contingency underwriter.
His most recent role was as head of technology, cyber and data underwriting for Hiscox UK and Ireland.
Webb said: “My first responsibility will be to evolve the cyber strategy; building on our reputation and leveraging our deep expertise.
“In today’s technology-driven environment, virtually every business is at risk to both internal and external cyber threats, and breaches are only becoming bigger and more costly.”
Webb will report to Hiscox Group chief underwriting officer Richard Watson.
Watson said: “Matt’s experience in this line of business, which includes a track record of strong product innovation, means he will be invaluable in helping us make the most of the opportunity and leveraging our history and brand in this area.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
