Hiscox director of underwriting Robert Childs said: "By embracing technology, we can grow our business and reduce costs at the same time as delivering a better service to our brokers. We have successfully launched our online terrorism product in the USA we want to build on this success."

e-commerce development director James Christopherson said: "Technology is vital to the future of Lloyd's. It is essential that we work with our brokers and underwriters to develop systems that encourage the flow of new business into Lloyd's, as well as increased retention rates.
