Hiscox has launched an SME office insurance policy that provides a level of cover it says is not offered by the ‘one-size-fits-all' pre-packaged policies currently prevalent in the market place.

Hiscox said ‘Flexible Office' has been designed to appeal to a broad range of SME commercial office clients, providing them with the flexibility to tailor their insurance policies according to their individual risks.

Hiscox believes that the ‘one-size-fits-all' approach of standard pre-packaged insurance policies often leaves clients underinsured or paying for cover that they do not necessarily need.

The company said the new policy provides up to £200,000 contents cover and offers as standard what some insurers consider ‘extras'.

John Heaney, UK commercial underwriting manager at Hiscox, said: “Too many businesses buy ‘off the shelf' insurance policies based on price, unaware that they could in fact be left short of cover when they come to claim or are paying for cover that they don't need. By purchasing a tailored service, customers are buying peace of mind and saving money in the long run.

"Flexible Office also gives our brokers a competitive edge and a profitable income stream.”
