ON Technology, a US-based provider of remote software and content management solutions, is working with the insurance group Hiscox to roll out Windows XP, using ON Technology's remote software management tool ON Command CCM.
Hiscox is the first joint customer for ON Technology and its new partner, IT services company Plato.
Hiscox needed to migrate four European offices, four regional UK offices and 120 laptops to Windows XP. ON Technology worked with Hiscox to migrate 550 PCs across its two London sites from Windows 95 and NT, across to Windows XP.
Deployment of Windows XP using ON Command CCM was carried out during office hours, whilst staff were involved in training, covering the forthcoming changes to the IT systems. During the two-hour training session, the PCs were upgraded so that staff returned from training to the new system.
Hiscox is currently working towards its Silver FAST certification (Federation Against Software Theft).
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
