Bank scraped a living in Peru
An email lands in Backchat’s inbox announcing that HSBC Insurance Brokers is celebrating 200 years in insurance. Congratulations all round.
We’re told the broking arm of HSBC Insurance can trace its origins to the founding of the firm by Anthony Gibb in the City of London in 1808.
The press release goes on to explore HSBC Insurance Brokers’ place in history.
Milestones include funding the construction of Keble College, Oxford, and insuring the personal effects of four prime ministers. But Backchat’s personal favourite is its role in cornering the Peruvian guano trade.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
