20 audience members were injured when the stage collapsed during a theatre performance last night, according to reports. The incident occurred at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham.
According to the report, a spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The Health and Safety executive have begun an investigation."
11 people were taken to hospital after the incident at a performance of Sing-a-long Sound of Music. Audience members had been invited onto the stage for a "best dressed nun" competition, the report said.
