The Institute of Chartered Accountants is probing the work of its members at Independent Insurance, the insolvent commercial insurer, the Financial Times reports.
The professional body for chartered accountants has also launched a probe into the role of Independent's auditors KPMG.
Independent is also subject to investigations by the Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Standards Authority.
