Just under half of all UK IFA feel less confident about their business prospects than a year ago, according to a new survey.

The survey, conducted by Acquisitions, Mergers and Sales Limited (AMAS), found that in contrast, only 23% of IFAs felt more confident.

In addition, 50% said they have considered leaving the industry or selling their
business in the last year.

Phil Calvert, Director of AMAS said: "We knew that many IFAs were unhappy about the state of the industry, but we were very surprised to discover just how many had considered leaving the industry, selling up or joining forces with a larger firm.

"When you look together at those that feel the same or less confident about their prospects, that's a massive 74% who don't feel any more confident than they did a year ago."
