All in one

All in one
Alexander Forbes Professions has launched a new general business insurance policy for sole practitioners, under an exclusive facility with Hiscox. The product, called AF Office, will cover a variety of needs, from loss of documents to cyberliability and tenants' agreements, with one policy. Director Geoff King said market research had shown that sole practitioners were tired of taking out separate policies to cover all their risks.

Single-stop unit
Miller Fisher has opened a new unit to consolidate and develop its Lloyd's Market business. The unit is based at the company's London head office and will provide a single stop for a range of claims services including policy and claims administration, adjusting and vehicle inspection. The five-strong unit has three directors: Alan Speyer, Darren Coombes and Colin Heap, an associate director in David Waterman.

Working it out
Towergate Underwriting is holding a workshop for intermediaries on the workings of the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC). GISC chief executive Chris Woodburn is due to speak at the event at the NEC Metropole hotel on June 6. Maidstone-based Towergate will also present the valuations process it uses to target acquisitions.

Autumn peaks
The Invesco 24 Peaks Challenge has been postponed to September 22-23, because of the foot-and-mouth outbreak. It had been due to take place on June 16-17. The challenge, which raises money for Children's Aid Direct, involves teams climbing 24 peaks in the Lake District over 24 hours.
