New man at Elliotts
Nathan Merrills has been appointed as an assistant solicitor at solicitors Elliott's Professional Indemnity Team. He will be concentrating on professional indemnity work, particularly surveyor's negligence. Merrills trained at Nottingham legal firm French and Co.

City law firm appointment
Heather Baucher has been appointed to the insurance department of City law firm Hill Dickinson. Baucher originally worked in the firm's Liverpool office and is taking her three-man team with her to London. Her major areas of interest will be professional indemnity and major public liability cases. The appointments follow on from the recruitment of team of international yachting experts earlier this year to complement the firm's legal services.

BLG boosts its team
Michael Wilson and Lynn Hassett have been appointed to Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG). Both were previously with Berwin Leighton where they were recognised as leading practitioners in the field of financial institutions insurance and represented many major firms. BLG senior partner Ian Jenkins said: "Both Michael and Lynn will be a real asset to the firm."

DAR's row resolutions
Melanie Isherwood has joined Davies Arnold Cooper to work in its Manchester Dispute Resolution team. Isherwood brings nine years of experience as a medical practitioner and five years in defendant personal injury and clinical negligence work.
