Zurich has called on insurers and customers to root out fraud in the industry.
Insurance Times reported this week that the ABI is considering proposals for a central fund that would allow the repatriation of stolen vehicles.

The ABI research reveals that almost half (47%) of those questioned would not rule out making a dishonest claim in the future.
In response a Zurich spokesman said: "It is a staggering thought that 7% of people have made a fraudulent insurance claim and many more would consider doing so.
"While many people doubtless think of it as acceptable, it is not a victimless crime - fraudulent claims are subsidised by the honest policyholder in the same way shoplifting is subsidised by honest shoppers.
"As we all pay for this dishonesty, we encourage everyone who suspects anyone of making a fraudulent claim to ring the ABI's fraud hotline."
