The insurance industry is one of the most efficient at handling campaign response, says latest research from marketing contact specialist Ion Group.

Senior marketing professionals from key industries were assessed on a range of factors from prospecting and customer development campaigns to handling
an inquiry.

Those industry sectors falling under the financial services umbrella emerged as best of the bunch.

Ion group managing director Graham Ede said: "Insurers, generally, are unable to differentiate little more than price. They are prone to be thought of as uninspiring and not worth much of the consumer's attention.

"Since the opportunities insurers get to attract new customers are few and far between, and given that opportunities are highly time-sensitive, insurers are under intense pressure to make every communication count. Get the quote out immediately or risk the inquirer going elsewhere."
