Independent Insurance this week announced the first in a string of web partnerships with brokers this week, forming an alliance with Ipswich-based Ryan Insurance Brokers.
The two firms have launched businessrisk.com, an extranet solution for small-premium commercial risks such as hotels, shops and small manufacturing companies.
Using the system, Ryan can issue policies as soon as it has struck a deal with its client. On-going administration is built into the system to provide a bespoke service for each client.
Independent's new head of ebusiness Andy Hawkes said: “The extranet site allows us to reduce administration costs dramatically and pass on the benefits to brokers. The partnership with Ryan will be the first of many we will announce over the coming months.”
