Second round of investment totals £5.7m

Risk management software provider Riskclick has received a capital injection of $8.25m (£5.7m) from Securitas Ventures and the company's founding investors, Banc of America Equity Partners Europe and Amadeus Capital Partners.

The investment has also been supported by a panel of private investors in the risk and insurance industry, including Robert Clements, a non-executive director of Riskclick.

Riskclick chief executive officer Tim Wright said the second round of investment would enable the company to expand into new market segments such as reinsurance, captives and mutuals, specialty and wholesale.

He said: "We will continue to develop valuable new features that enable customers in all segments to increase efficiency and modernise the services they provide to their clients."

Riskclick currently provides brokers, underwriters, risk managers and third party risk solution providers with collaborative commerce software that aids risk management.

It previously raised $20m (£13.9m) from blue chip investors.

The board of directors includes Bob Clements, previously the chairman of Marsh and the founder of Ace and XL Brockbank.

Securitas Ventures is a global venture capital fund dedicated to investing in start-up companies in the insurance industry.
