Motor specialist Road Runner has promoted Paul Inskip, ACII, to group managing director of the Road Runner Group, which includes broker-only motor trade specialist, Motor Trade Solutions.
Group chairman, Mike Slack, said the promotion, from general manager, signifies the contribution Inskip has made to the group since joining the motor trade intermediary as general manager from MMA Insurance plc last July.
Inskip's role will be to continue developing the core group business and to oversee a programme of diversification into other specialist niche markets. The group recently diversified into the direct liability market with the launch of Liability Insurance Solutions.
"We have very ambitious plans for future growth", said Slack. "And Paul is the right person to take the group forward."
Slack will officially step down as managing director of the group, a role he has held since the foundation of Road Runner in 1995. He will continue in a strategic role, concentrating on industry and regulatory issues which include his membership of the boards of GISC and BIBA.
Inskip said: "The industry is going through difficult times, but the group is continuing to flourish. I am pleased to be given the opportunity to play a major role in the future of the business."
