Insurance companies are failing to make the most out of the internet, according to online consultancy Dolphin.

In a new study, Dolphin found that the majority of insurance websites are not capitalising on potential revenue opportunities.

The company also conducted a survey of insurance sites and found that few of them promote themselves online.

In addition, the British Chambers of Commerce claim that three-quarters of smaller firms are seeing no returns from their websites.

Dolphin Promotions director Simon Leigh said: "Many people who are not receiving returns from their website blame the design or content of the site far too readily.

"They tend to be unaware of the importance of actually promoting the site online."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
