The Insurance Institute of London is to launch a research report on insurance of revenue for advance projects, with the aim of clarifying this area of insurance.

"Insurance of Revenue for Projects under Construction", is to be launched tomorrow.

The institute said the increased use of delay in start-up insurance (DSU) or advance loss of revenue insurance made the new report significant.

It added that protecting the stream of revenue was now regarded as of equal importance as protecting assets themselves.

According to the Institute, the report covers many aspects of the subject, including policy wording, and is illustrated by examples of actual claims.

Norman Alderton, a contributing author to the report, said: "This new book, written by a team experienced in handling this class of insurance in the London and international markets, makes a complex subject accessible in a way that will be helpful not only to students but also to the experienced practitioner. It is likely to become the standard source of guidance in the management of this form of insurance worldwide."
