The second day's action in the Insurance Times Regatta got underway in Portsmouth this morning.
The crews left Portsmouth harbour just after 9am and were heading for The Channel.
Competition for the Euclidian Challenge Trophy heats up today as the racing moves into top gear.
Three races will take place during the day with the top prize still up for grabs.
After yesterday's action, Towergate Chase Park led the field by eight minutes from Zurich Corporate.
Today's races are designed to be faster with 'open' starts and quick turnarounds.
Assembling for the Skipper's briefing this morning, all 22 crews reported no major problems and were eager to get underway.
Race organiser, SetSail, asked the crews to respect the choppy conditions in The Solent and be ready for quick course changes.
A spokesman said: "Conditions are forecast to be quite good but getting choppy later. The majority of these crews will have no trouble coming to grips with the wind."
The results of day's first race are expected shortly.
