Court action supported by after-the-event (ATE) insurance is helping claimants recover increasing levels of compensation, according to Access to Justice.
The outlook from the new company formed out of ATE insurers, Litigation Protection and Greystoke Legal Services, forecast that solicitors using ATE policies have recovered £10m in damages during July.
Access to Justice executive chairman Brian Raincock said: "These substantial settlements show that after the event legal expenses insurance combined with conditional fee agreements provide a realistic and sustainable route to justice."
