Former England captain Kevin Pieterson set to receive $650,000 payout
Insurers will foot the $1.3m bill to cover the salaries for a trio of injured English cricket stars.
Stuart Broad, Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood missed the Indian Premier League (IPL) but insurance policies, which were taken out individually, will cover up to 100% of their salary.
Collingwood’s knee operation will keep the player out of action for at least six more weeks, according to the Telegraph.
Collingwood is contracted to Rajathan Royals for $250,000, Pietersen is contracted with Deccan Chargers for $650,000 and Broad's contract with the Kings XI Punjab is worth $400,000.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
