The Body Repair Industry Campign (BRIC) has submitted a report to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) calling for a thorough investigation into the body repair market, particularly the activities of insurers and estimating systems providers.
The detailed report sets out the issues which BRIC says have resulted in the UK body repair trade facing an uncertain future, and which have also given rise to financial, safety-related, and other detriments to motorists.
BRIC stated that it hopes the outcome of any investigation by the UK competition authorities will give rise to a more transparent marketplace, in which insurers, body repairers and motorists will all benefit from a more level playing field.
Once the OFT has been given time to consider the documents, BRIC will make available a consolidated version of the Submission.
