Insurance industry IT managers are taking on strategic roles, according to research by Synstar.

The research says 34% of IT managers in the industry spend 131 days in meetings. This contrasts with previous perceptions of IT managers undertaking technical tasks, Synstar adds.

"The latest survey shows they are liaising with the board more often and taking on more strategic responsibility than ever before," says Synstar.
