Paul Rostron is the QBE Fantasy Football Manager of the Month for January with his team Gezza's Giants.
In a competitive month, the Lucas Fettes account handler achieved 73 points — the same number as Gregory Foulger's Boys on Tour, but Rostron edged ahead thanks to superior goals scored.
That's not surprising when his team includes the two leading contenders for Footballer of the Season, Chelsea hitman Didier Drogba and Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
But, after receiving his trophy and magnum of champagne, Rostron attributed his success to a solid defence. He's hoping that the recent transfer addition of Reading midfielder Glen Little will bolster Gezza's Giants' chances in the Manager of the Season competition.
And the race for QBE's £50,000 winner-takes-all prize is hotting up. Chris Houghton's All Stop! is the overall leader but The Ideal Toffeemen and Real Ale Madrid are close on his heels.
Remember, there's no excuse for players languish-ing lower down the leader board to neglect their teams.
