City speculates on Aon buying 30.2% stake in JLT
JLT’s shares soared late yesterday on rumours Aon was planning a bold bid to snap up a 30.2% stake in the company.
The share price climb to a 600p high has been fuelled this week by rumours Aon had agreed an £8-plus per share agreement with JLT.
JLT's other major shareholder, Silchester International Investments, is apparentely willing to listen to offers for its 15.9%.
JLT’s shares peaked near 600p before falling to 588p this morning, as the rumours began to run out of steam.
