Crowe Insurance is to provide localised liability claims handling for Lloyd's service company Charrington Northern

Ireland.

The move means Crowe's liability claims staff will keep their jobs following Crowe's decision to stop writing liability cover and focus instead on professional indemnity insurance.

Charrington's underwriter David Pye said: "Although we have been working with brokers in Northern Ireland for the last five years to build our book of niche liability business we have always acknowledged that our providers would benefit from a local underwriting and claims presence."

Crowe's Belfast office was opened in 1991 and now employs 35 staff. The Charrington/Crowe team consists of five claims handlers and five underwriters.
