FFDR contracts manager John Sutherland said: "This system allows us to instantly chart the progress of a repair job so we can either devote extra resources to allow a job to be completed or so that we can plan how best to divert tradesmen from one job to the next.

"This means we can provide a fast and efficient restoration service, which is vital when someone has suffered the considerable disturbance of a fire or flood.

"The beauty of the system also means that the claims adviser or loss adjuster can assess the same information on behalf of a customer from anywhere in the country to ensure they are delivering excellent customer service."
