Category three hurricane caused floods but many uninsured

Catastrophe modelling firm AIR Worldwide says hurricane Karl’s damage in Mexico on 17 September will cost insurers cost at least $100m and possibly as much as $200m, Bloomberg reports.

The storm caused flooding in parts of the state of Veracruz and a landslide in Nexticapan.

Much of the economic loss was not insured.
