Kiln hires medical expenses underwriter

Lloyd's insurer Kiln has appointed Paul Blunden as a class underwriter of medical expenses insurance for Syndicate 807.

Blunden joins from Brit Insurance where he has been underwriting the medical expenses account for the last 7 years. In his new role, Blunden will develop the international medical expenses business and provide additional support on the existing account.

“Paul’s addition to the team is a very positive step for Syndicate 807," said Lloyd Tunnicliffe, active underwriter of Syndicate 807, in a statement. "His considerable experience in the medical expenses market will further strengthen Kiln’s offering in this area and provide us with increased access to international business. ”

Blunden has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance market, having worked for Cassidy Davis and GE Frankona.
