Vehicle body repairers could be losing up to £45m a year, because insurers are failing to pay them for the time it takes to polish vehicles.
The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) bases this figure on a calculation of 4.5 million accidents per year.
Evidence of insurers' reluctance to fork out was gathered as part of the Body Repair Industry Campaign against unfair and anti-competitive practices.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
