Legal & General's sale of protection products is up by 88% in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year.
Annual premium sales of protection products like term assurance and critical illness were £70m in the first half of 2002, compared to £37.2m in the first half of last year.
The company claims this success was due to having "good value products, market leading e-business developments and lighter touch regulation for pure protection products".
