Legal & General has released an online guide advising homeowners how to protect their property from winter weather.
The guide called "Winter weather can seriously damage your home" provides hints on insulation, security and how to avoid burst pipes.
Head of marketing, Andy Sampson, said many of the claims made on home insurance policies related to damage caused during winter months.
