A lawsuit has been filed against Aon, accusing its brokers of distributing false and misleading statements with regards to its financial results and operations, reports said today.

San Diego-based law firm Lerach Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins is the latest firm to file a lawsuit against a major broker in the US.

The suit accuses Aon of receiving contingent commissions via illegal agreements with insurers.

The company's share price has already taken a battering when news it was caught up in the Spitzer probe broke. Reports said a further decline in share price value is expected.
