Referral and win fees under scrutiny in tribunal case
The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal case that could have a huge impact on referral and win fees paid to solicitors in liability cases has begun.
The case is against Jim Beresford, 58, and Douglas Smith, 51, partners in Beresfords, a South Yorkshire firm of solicitors that was involved in securing compensation for miners through contacts with the Union of democratic Mineworkers.
