Legal & General has extended its electronic trading systems for its protection range.

The move will enable IFAs and business partners using its eProtection Choices range to use an automated underwriting service similar to that of its Online Term Assurance (OLTA) system.

EProtection choices will allow advisers to collect customer data and complete applications offline before going online to submit their forms.

The enhanced products will enable many forms to completed as soon as the automated underwriting system receives them. Policy documents for such cases would be issued automatically and immediately, said the company.

Legal & General said it has added new customer-personalised screens to eProtection Choices to capture more information on medical conditions and hazardous pursuits, among others, at the point of sale.
