LFC Insurance Group has acquired Clarke Cleverley & Co, an Essex-based commercial broker.
Clarke Cleverley's existing directors, Keith North, David English and Les Clark, along with their staff, will all join LFC Insurance, said the company.
LFC Insurance said the acquisition was the first stage in a planned expansion. The company said it hoped to double its present size from £10m to £20m premium by January 2005.
