Lloyd's managing agency Liberty Syndicates has announced its intention to launch into the personal accident market.
Following the appointment of David Morris from Syndicate 582, he will be responsible for all personal accident underwriting.
In a statement Liberty said: "Liberty's decision to expand into this class of business was prompted by a long standing familiarity with the class, and David in particular, coupled with rapidly improving conditions currently being experienced in a market which has seen a considerable contraction in capacity.
Mr Morris added: "Liberty has recognised that the current trading conditions promise an excellent opportunity to expand into this area, where they will be able to add value to our team.
"Liberty's strength and background provide firm foundations and I am very much looking forward to becoming part of the successful Liberty syndicates."
