Motorists across the country called on their insurance cover as last week's freezing weather brought traffic to a standstill.
Motoring assistance service Green Flag reported business up by 80% last Friday as snow caused chaos.
Most calls were from drivers needing help to start their cars, having abandoned their vehicles or suffered bumps in the icy conditions.
But the ABI did not expect a flood of expensive claims.
A spokesman said: "There was a lot of disruption but not a lot of damage.
"Cars were involved in more accidents, but nothing that's going to push claims particularly high."
Businesses were not directly damaged so claims for business interruption were expected to be "few and far between".
