Warrant for Olympic hopeful's arrest for failing to take part in breath test

A warrant has been issued for the athlete niece of Linford Christie after she was convicted in her absence of failing to provide a breath specimen.

Rachel Christie was originally stopped by police in early hours of February 15 after a policeman ran a computer check which showed she had no insurance for her Renault Megane.

Initial breath tests indicated showed the athlete and Olympic hopeful was over the limit but she failed to provide a second specimen at Paddington Green police station in London, a magistrates court heard.

District Judge Henry Riddle said he was 'satisfied' Christie was aware of today's date and issued a warrant for arrest, the London's Evening Standard reports.
