Lloyd's will have £14.9bn of underwriting capacity for 2004, announced chief executive Nick Prettejohn.
He said the 2004 figure, which maintains the capacity level of 2003, underlined Lloyd's strong capital base and demonstrated market discipline. The year-end capacity figure for 2003 was £14.9bn.
Lloyd's said the announcement of its 2004 capacity followed the first business plan approval process under its new franchise arrangements.
