Lloyd’s said it has honoured two US brokers for their achievements within the US industry and contributions to the Lloyd’s market during 2003.

Gary Cooney of McGriff, Seibels & Williams, was named US Surplus Lines Broker of the Year, and John Gilbert of Holborn Corporation, was named Reinsurance Broker of the Year at a ceremony hosted by Lloyd’s deputy chairman John Coldman.

Lloyd’s said the judges had paid tribute to the way they had used their knowledge and expertise in dealing with the market to deliver outstanding solutions for their clients, despite difficult market conditions for brokers last year.

The US broker awards were established in 2002.
