Lloyd's has elected three new members to the Council of Lloyd's.
David Shipley, a new member who is an underwriter with Managing Agency Partners, has been elected to the Council
Shipley replaces Graham McKean, who stands down after three years. John Coldman, chairman of broker Benfield Group, was re-elected.
Peter Morgan was also re-elected as an Individual External Member.
The appointments are for a three-year term and commence on February 1, 2003. The appointments are subject to approval by the FSA.
Meanwhile, Lloyd's chairman Lord Levene is set to tell insurance professionals tonight that Lloyd's will remain a "secure" beacon in the industry's future.
Speaking to members of the Association of Insurers and Risk Managers (AIRMIC), Levene will say Lloyd's is set for a healthy future.
