Lloyd’s staff dress down and stress downin Samaritans fundraiser
Members of the Lloyd’s market spent the day in their slippers in support of Samaritans Stress Down Day.
As part of the day, a variety of fundraising and stress-reducing activities were held at the Lloyd’s buildings in London and Chatham.
Staff were encouraged to dress down and stress down with relaxing smoothies before having a quick ten-minute massage to relieve all those aches and pains. Staff were also provided with green stress phones to squeeze during those stressful moments.
There was also a laughter work shop designed to release happy hormones around the body.
Staff raised £2000 to enable Samaritans to continue helping people in need of emotional support throughout the country.
Chris Hooper, Lloyd’s Head of Human Resources, said: "Lloyd's was pleased to support Stress Down Day. Creating a stress free environment at work is essential for staff and business. Research clearly shows that employees with low levels of stress are happier, more efficient and collaborative.”
Suki Dale, Samaritans’ Senior Corporate Fundraiser, said: “Stress Down Day has given an opportunity for many busy people at Lloyd’s to have a moment to de-stress and take time out while supporting the Samaritans.”
