Lloyd's has revealed it expects a decision on its application for a reinsurance licence in China to take several months.
A Lloyd's spokesman has been reported as saying that negotiations over Lloyd's licence in China would take months and that a quick decision is not likely.
Lord Levene represented Lloyd's as part of a delegation of UK businesses visiting China this week, led by Prime Minister Tony Blair.
