The Chartered Insurance Institute's new London Market Faculty has celebrated opening for membership by holding a special reception at London's newest landmark, ‘the Gherkin'.
Over 250 practitioners from the London and Lloyd's market attended the reception, which was held to promote the availability of membership to the organisation.
The Faculty is designed to offer support and training to individual members and help define standards of good practice for businesses in the face of new FSA regulations.
Whilst speaking at the reception, the Faculty Advisory Board's chairman, Derek Thornton said, “London must take the lead and will only remain at the centre stage if it is seen as a trusted, respected and professional market. At the heart of the London Market faculty will be standards of professional conduct for those working in the London Market.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
