Dennis Lomas does not deserve prison, claims wife Lynda
The wife of jailed Independent director Dennis Lomas has protested her husband’s innocence after seeing him imprisoned for four years earlier today.
Lynda Lomas, along with son Daniel, watched as the former finance director was found guilty this week on two charges of conspiracy to defraud in connection with the collapse of Independent Insurance.
She told Insurance Times: “He does not deserve prison because I still think he is not guilty.”
Lynda, who has supported her husband since the start of the trial, was comforted by her son after the judge gave his verdict.
She added: “I am glad it is over but I wish he had not had to put up with what he has.”
The family were unsure whether an appeal would be lodged, but said the matter was being discussed with Lomas’ defence team.
